Most of my favorite gear is my bondage gear, I'll admit. I find restraints to be exciting and arousing in general, even just the look and feel of them. I can improvise and/or do without a lot of S&M toys, but I couldn't give up the bondage gear.
I find hogtie kits and spreader bars to be especially diabolical.

One of our favorites is one of the simpliest-the Bond Voyage. It consists of two nylon straps with plastic O-rings attached every foot. You put them under and over the mattress of a bed and each has a clasp so you can secure and tighten them. One at the bottom of the bed, one at the top, add some leather restraints and locks and you have instant bondage that is portable and a non-issue when going thru airport security. Depending on how you space them on the bed, you can create some interesting positions. We bought it at a BDSM store about 10 years ago for $20 and we take it with us whenever we travel and we use it at home.
